A Winter's Solstice II (WH-1077)
The second holiday-themed album from the Windham Hill label, the 77th cataloged, features completely original tracks recorded specifically for the album. This record is notable in that it started a new trend in recording specific tracks commissioned just for the album. It was also the last (and only second) Winter's Solstice album to be printed on Vinyl (carrying the WH code).
Malcolm Dalgish is featured twice on this album, Track 12 as a soloist, and Track 4 with his band Metamora. Longtime Winter's Solstice contributors Barbara Higbie, Paul McCandless and Nightnoise are introduced for the first time here.
